Aah, it's good to be home, and even better to be home to gym news! In an interesting match-up over the weekend, collegiate Aussies Mel Jones and Olivia Vivian (Oregon State) took on conference rivals Stanford, where one of their stalwarts is fellow Beijing 2008 squadder Shona Morgan . Competing in front of a home crowd, OSU came out on top, with Olivia scoring an awesome 9.925 on bars. More great reviews are flooding in for Mel's floor...

NCAA Gymnastics has kicked off for 2012, and Aussies were right there in the lineup. At Oregon State, Olivia Vivian and Mel Jones (the latter now competing all-around for the first time at the school) helped the Beavers to victory over Oklahoma. Check out Olivia's new floor below. According to delegation member Tom Pichler , there will be a judge-free friendly competition today at the Waveney Gymnastics Club against Teams GB and Canada.

News out of Acapulco is pretty scarce and I'm getting some mixed reports. What I can tell you is that Emily Little is in 4th overall as an individual after day 1; though each female gymnast is paired with a male gymnast and they can win a pairs title as well. Emily is paired with Santiago Lopez of Mexico as well as Sergey Khorkhordin (due to less female than male gymnasts taking part). With Lopez she is sitting in 7th but with Khorkhordin...

Hi guys. Just got word from The All Around that the standings from the WAG team qualification in Stuttgart went thusly: 1. AUS 110.350 (!!!!!) 2. GER 106.250 3. RUS 105.950 4. NED 105.200 5. SUI 100,500 6. AUT 99.500 See a results pdf here . Lauren scored phenomenally on beam while Nikki rocked the second highest start scores on beam and bars.

Lauren Mitchell puts her world title on the line tomorrow afternoon (approximately 5:40 AEDST) Unfortunately, even with Stealthy in place, I couldn't get the BBC stream working today. At all!
