With the Closing Ceremony, the curtain fell on the 14th edition of the World Gymnaestrada. It was a week during which the gymnastics presentations succeeded one another at the speed of light, always leaving room for interaction on a human level. Fifty-five delegations coming from the four corners of the planet offered their talent, warmth, and colorful fireworks to the public of Lausanne, the region, and the world. Once again, there was magic!

On July 23, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) will celebrate the 130th anniversary of its founding. A ceremony hosted by FIG President Prof. Bruno Grandi will be given in honour of the event on July 15, parallel to the 14th World Gymnaestrada 2011 aboard the Ville de Lausanne on scenic Lake Léman.

The Italian Gymnastics Federation informs that its National Technical Director of Gymnastics for All, Mrs Elisabetta Mastrostefano, passed away on the last June 13, 2011. She would have been 55 on June 25.
